The software works with all versions of Microsoft Windows since Windows 95. Fixed Tubesheet (FTS) and Flow Induce Vibration (FIV) software Version 3.1 works up to Windows XP and Vista. Windows 7 requires version 3.2. Effective January 17, 2011, the download links provide version 3.2, which works with all versions of Windows since Windows 95.
Note that the difference between 3.1 and 3.2 is just a compatibility update – there is absolutely no need for existing users on an XP
or Vista machine to switch to the new version. This page previously referred to version 3.3, but there is no version 3.3.
Instructions for new customers installing FIV or FTS for the first time:
You must leave the installation in the default path that the install program selects. Other than this one requirement, just follow the instructions in the installer and you should not have any problems.
Instructions for customers that want to keep their existing saved cases for either FIV or FTS or both when installing version 3.3:
1. Make a copy of the existing database(s) and store them in a temporary safe location (such as a “temp” folder or “downloads” folder, a thumb drive, etc.). You will find the database(s) in c:\program files\TEMA. FIV.mdb and FTS.mdb are the primary databases for the respective programs, and ModE.mdb is used by both. Note that the ModE.mdb database only needs to be copied if you have made modifications or additions to the materials that came with the software.
2. Uninstall the existing version of the TEMA software (FIV and FTS both if applicable).
3. Install the new version of the software, making sure to install in the default location specified by the install program.
4. Copy your stored database files from their temporary location to the C:\TEMA folder, and click yes when it asks if you want to overwrite the existing ones.
The software must be installed on the system drive. In most network environments the system drive is on the client (typically c:\), so network installation is NOT possible.
The Ninth Edition software is a completely new product, and no upgrade is available.
Note to International users: You must change the Windows Number Format to use the correct Decimal Symbol while using the software. In Windows 10 this is in Control Panel / Clock, Language, and Region: Region : change date, time, or number formats / Additional Settings. Change the decimal symbol to . instead of , (this change must be applied before running the TEMA software). You may find it necessary to change the digit grouping to eliminate commas as well.
For other issues, please use the contact information in the instructions that came with the software.
NO!! It is not necessary to reinstall; if you do, you will delete all your cases!!
